Alphonsa files another petition seeking anticipatory bail

Alphonsa petition

Item girl Alphonsa is sure going through some tough times. The actress was recently discharged from a private hospital in Chennai where she was admitted after she collapsed at her Virugambakkam residence after taking an overdose of sleeping pills on seeing her ‘live-in’ partner Vinod Kumar hanging dead from the noose of the ceiling in one of the bedrooms in the house.

Vinod’s family didn’t go by Alphonsa’s version and have stated that she and her brother Robert, a choreographer, had conspired to ‘kill’ Vinod and were trying their best to make it as a case of ‘suicide’. The family has filed a case with the police requesting for a detailed investigation in the case. The police had been waiting for Alphonsa to come out of the hospital so that they can enquire her.

Meanwhile, Alphonsa is said to have gone ‘underground’ fearing investigation and possible arrest by the police. She is said to have gone to some undisclosed destination along with her 8-year old daughter. She also filed a petition with the Sessions Court seeking anticipatory bail in the case to evade arrest by the police. The Sessions Court, however, quashed her plea.

She then approached the Chennai High Court and filed a similar petition seeking bail in advance. The case comes up for hearing today at the Court. The case would be dealt with by Mr. Justice M.M. Sundaresh.
