Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar is awestruck with Vijay’s Bollywood performance. The Thuppaki hero had received an unexpected call from choreographer/director Prabhu Deva who is filming Rowdy Rathore with Akshay. When he asked Vijay to do a cameo in the film, the actor had agreed instantly.
“I have been Akshay Kumar’s fan right from his Khiladi days”, says Vijay who is back to completing Thuppakki. Shooting his cameo dance number with Akshay and Prabhu Deva for the song Chinta ta ta, Vijay never took any sort of remuneration in cash or kind. As he did it just for the love of it, his performance too reflected the same. Bollywood hero Akshay did feel a bit of competition as he jokingly asked Prabhu , “What is he just 17 ? ”.Prabhu told him about the huge fan base his Kollywood hero enjoys down South, praising his exceptional dance skills. But he made it very clear that he wasn’t looking for a Bollywood launch pad for the Thuppaki hero through Rowdy Rathore. To this Akshay replied, “Why does he even need one. Bollywood would come calling on it’s own for such a talent.” Winning a new fan in Akshay and moving on to his Thuppaki shoots, the film has completed it’s talkie portions with just the songs left to shoot. The unit had boarded a cruiser ship recently filming some of the portions. Latest is that all shoots including the songs will be wrapped up by June end.
