The shooting of actor Ajith’s upcoming film Billa-2 has been wrapped up in record time and in less than 100 days. The film, billed as Ajith’s pet project, was launched just before the release of the actor’s latest film Mankatha which was not only his landmark 50th film but also turned out to be the biggest grosser in 2011.
Billa-2 which kicked off in the port city of Visakhapatnam a few months back has been completed, informs director Chakri T0leti. In fact, the entire shoot has been wrapped up in 93 days, he says. ‘Patch-work’ shooting is likely to be held for 5 days which would still mean that the shooting is over in less than 100 days.
The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has always remained one of Ajith’s most favourite music directors. The official ‘stills’ of the film starring Ajith Kumar, Parvathy Omanakuttan (former beauty queen), Bruna Abdullah and many others would be released on the eve of Pongal on 14th January.
The post-production work has already commenced and the film is likely to be released all over the world in April (probably on the Tamil New Year day on 14th). Billa-2 is a sequel to Ajith’s huge hit Billa which released in 2007; yet, the script won’t be the continuation of where Billa ended. Instead, it would trace the origin of how an ordinary youth took the form of the dreaded don Billa.
After this film, Ajith is to star in a film produced by producer A.M. Rathnam and another film produced by Vijaya Productions.
