Hardly a day or two after confirming that his upcoming film (after the release of Billa-2, of course!) would be directed by producer A.M. Rathnam and directed by Vishnuvardhan, actor Ajith Kumar took part in the kumbabishekam of the Saibaba Temple built by Rathnam at Chennai’s suburb Valasaravakkam.
Valasaravakkam and Virugambakkam, the surrounding locality, are home to many Kollywood actors, actresses, produces, directors and technicians. Rathnam, an ardent devotee of Saibaba, recently completed the construction of his Sri Viswaroopa Shirdi Saibaba Temple at Kamakodi Nagar in Valasaravakkam. The temple has reportedly been constructed as per vedic provisions and has a 9-feet long Viswaroopa Saibaba’s statue.
The kumbabishekam of the temple was held in a grand manner on the morning of Friday, the 4th May. Many ‘specialist’ temple priests from Shirdi had been specially brought in to perform the kumbabishekam which was attended in huge numbers by the locals and many devotees of Saibaba. Ajith Kumar was also present at the function clad in dhoti and a simple white shirt. He was welcomed by the temple administration.
Ajith prayed at the temple which wears a majestic look. Others who took part in the function include director Vishnuvardhan,Manjo Kumar, producers Sanjay Wadhwa and TNS, authors Subha and Suresh Chandra.
