Looks like the five day-holiday from June 23 to 27, due to the World Classical Tamil Conference in Coimbatore has come as a big relief to Mani Ratnam’s much-hyped Raavanan.
The film that opened to full houses on weekends in Chennai and Coimbatore, soon started dipping on Monday and Tuesday.
However the holidays came as a rescue, as business picked up on Wednesday and went on steadily during the weekend.
“Mani Ratnam has to thank the state government for announcing the five-day holiday due to Tamil Conference, which has really bettered Raavanan’s collections.
The film which received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, has put up a better show and the Tamil version has done better business than the Hindi and Telugu versions put together this weekend. Needless to say, Raavanan is a hit,” says a renowned trade analyst.
